Pulsar - Definitely Male

May 20th, 2009

Bajaj Pulsar is a bike which is specially designed for the Indian roads. This is a sport bike and the performance is simply superb. The main focus of this Bajaj industry was to manufacture fuel efficient bikes. But the survey might have helped Bajaj to introduce high power engines like 150cc bikes or more that are also in demand in this highly competitive market. In fact Bajaj has earned its name and fame through pulsar which is definitely male.

The pulsar was first launched with air cooled four stroke engine which also has some good features. But today the development is vast. Now, it is recently launched with DTS-i (150cc, 180cc&200cc), DTS-Fi (220cc) and exhaust-tech technology engine that drive these bikes in an advanced level. This newer version has the spark plugs at both the ends of the combustion chamber for better fuel burning. This is the performance with DTS-I technology. Another advanced technology which is introduced with pulsar is DTS-Fi technology. It actually replaces the carburettor with Fuel injection system which helps to increase the power output, better torque, quick warm up etc.
Therefore, the overall performance of the bike is good for Indian roads and the body gives the race look which doesn’t come in any other bike and this is why I feel proud to have one with me.

My Personal review on this bike is that it is extremely cool and comfortable with a good fuel efficiency. There is stiff competition for it from other manufacturers. After the launch of Pulsar many other 150cc bikes have become popular. So it is important for Pulsar manufacturers to keep in mind that even a small and potential fault would affect their sales. Some of the disadvantages which I faced with my bike are

1. The Fuel Indicator does not work well.
2. The gear sometimes fails to change.

Other than this there are no disadvantages in the bike and is better than its competitors. Since I bought this bike when it was newly launched it is claimed to have these problems. I also see that these problems were rectified in the newer versions. So overall I would tell you ‘Pulsar is still THE best’.

Nokia 1600

February 16th, 2009

I have been using this mobile phone for a long time so that i decided to write a review on it. It a simple colour mobile with no big features. This mobile has no FM, MP3 player, Bluetooth, Camera or expandable memory yet is very simple and handy. It costs low and is very user friendly. Texting and calling is very easy and user friendly. Though this mobile shows ‘Date’ when idle, it hasn’t got a calendar. I see this as a serious drawback. Though this mobile is not manufactured right now it is highly popular among the common people. One amazing fact about this mobile is that I would’ve dropped it a hundred times and still it is working. Though i have used other higher end models, I feel extremely comfortable with this. Nokia can improvise on this mobile and re-launch it.

Cockatoos

December 2nd, 2008

The Abbott’s yellow-crested cockatoo or sulphur crested has been rediscovered in the Masalembu archipelago of Indonesia by a research team working for the Indonesian Parrot project. Abbot’s cockatoos were once relatively common in this region. But now a total of only ten cockatoos were identified; four males’ four females, and two juveniles, making them the most threatened cockatoo in the wild and one of the world’s rarest birds. Like other members of the species (c.sulphurea species), these beautiful birds have a largely white body with a brilliant yellow, forward-curving crest, and slight yellow on their ear covert feathers. They may be the largest of the four sub species.

Largest Sandwich

December 2nd, 2008

Iran has failed to register what it said would be the world’s largest sandwich in the Guinness book of world Records after people rushed forward and began eating it before it was measured. Event organizers had planned to stuff the 1500 meter with 700 kilogram of chicken and 700 kilogram of ostrich meat and display it in a park in the capital Tehran. But as the sandwich was being measured, chaos ensued. The giant snack was just eaten up in minutes leaving the three Guinness representatives in a dilemma. The event organizers have sent the video footage of the sandwich to the Guinness officials. I think if Guinness record is given to it, it would be for the people who finished it within minutes. Isn’t it a record? Sadly for the Event organizers the whole thing turned out to be a mess.

Venus

November 26th, 2008

Venus the second planet from the sun is the hottest planet in our solar system. It has a temperature of about 480 degree Celsius hot enough to melt zinc. Its atmospheric pressure is nearly 100 times that of earth. Even 95 kilometers away from the surface the atmosphere is 138 degree Celsius but it cools down to 77 degree centigrade at night. Scientists guessed that water was present in Venus 4000 million years ago and disappeared due to the same greenhouse effect that the earth now is undergoing. The same kind of process that caused Venus to lose its oceans-the heat of the sun trapped below a cloud cover is now happening on earth.

Fools day

November 26th, 2008

April fool’s day is observed since 1564. Formerly April 1 was the first day of the year. In 1564 January 1 was fixed and settled. This change caused confusion to many people. In course of time it changed to fooleries and practical jokes. The fooling of each other began in the manner of exchanging false New Year greetings on April 1. In France the fooled person is called ‘Poisson d’ avril’ which means ‘April fish’. This is because the first corresponds exactly with the fish sign of the zodiac. In Switzerland bachelors plant trees in the houses of the girls they love. Today people all over the world enjoy the April fool jokes.
